Honolulu, Hawai‘i, Apr. 8, 2021

Hawaiian Host Group (HHG) announced today that Amir Zahedi has joined the company as SVP of Sales. In his new role, Zahedi will lead sales for the Hawaiian Host Group brands and products worldwide.

Zahedi brings more than 20 years of experience in CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) sales to the HHG family. Prior to joining HHG, Zahedi served as SVP of Sales at Truco Enterprises (makers of On The Border chips and dips).  During his tenure at Truco that began in 2014, the company nearly doubled revenue to over $200 million. Preceding Truco, Zahedi was the SVP of Sales at Century Snacks, where he led their Snak Club brand to more than 25,000 points of incremental distribution. Century Snacks is a privately held trail mix and snack nut company based in Los Angeles, where he currently resides.

“We are excited to have Amir join our executive team. Over the past year, we have created a wealth of new products for the marketplace. Amir’s experience and track record of success will lead our effort to get them into as many outlets as possible, to make them easily accessible for our loyal customers,” said Ed Schultz, President & CEO of Hawaiian Host Group. “Our new Mauna Loa macadamia nut milk ice cream is off to a great start on the mainland, so our goal is to expand distribution quickly. At the same time, our Hawaiian Host products will be introduced to new specialty distribution points later this year.”

“I’m thrilled to join Hawaiian Host Group, a company that has such a rich history rooted in two iconic brands that are loved and recognized by consumers around the world. I look forward to leading and supporting the team, while developing and implementing strategies to drive sales through ACV (All Commodity Volume) expansion across our global network. With products across multiple categories, including the all-new Mauna Loa macadamia nut milk ice cream varieties, the growth opportunities are limitless!”

Zahedi has held various roles throughout his career including Category Management, Trade Marketing, and progressive sales roles at Mars Inc., Unilever and Pinnacle Foods. He also earned his MBA from Pepperdine University, and has a B.S. in Environmental Engineering from UC Riverside.
