Last week marked a major milestone for Hawaiian Host Group: the debut of our refreshed take on Maui Caramacs.

This new version of one of our most iconic products features a softer, smoother caramel, improved shape consistency, and a refined recipe—crafted to elevate both taste and texture, while staying true to what people have always loved about Caramacs. And thanks to upgraded equipment and streamlined processes, our team is now making this reimagined classic with more precision and care than ever before.

Bringing this to life took incredible cross-functional teamwork—from research & development and operations to quality, supply chain, and more. Whether it was perfecting the new caramel formulation or fine-tuning our production lines for consistency, every detail reflected the pride we put into what we make.

To recognize the collaboration behind the scenes, every HHG team member received a box of fresh-off-the-line Caramacs. It was a small mahalo—and a chance to be among the first to enjoy this elevated version of a longtime favorite.

We also debuted the new Caramacs at this year’s Sweets & Snacks Expo, where attendees responded enthusiastically to the smoother texture and updated packaging. Early feedback has affirmed what we hoped: that innovation and heritage can go hand in hand.
