We’re thrilled to celebrate Jaymie Umehira, Senior Talent Acquisition Coordinator, as our Q3 Hoʻokipa Award Winner!
Jaymie has long been a pillar of our Talent Acquisition team, but truly stepped up in a time of transition to keep recruiting efforts across HHG moving forward. She has taken the lead in spearheading key hiring initiatives, represented HHG at multiple job fairs, and helped source and place exceptional candidates who are now contributing across Marketing, Talent Management, and Operations.
Her perseverance and enthusiasm have been instrumental in strengthening our team from the ground up—ensuring that as we grow, we’re doing so with the right people who share our values and vision.
Reflecting on what excellence means to her, Jaymie shared: “In every onboarding session, I explain our company mantra to our newest team members: Hoe ka waʻa—a reminder that no matter our role, we’re all paddling the canoe together, headed in the same direction. My advice for anyone striving for excellence is to remember that it’s not about going it alone. When we synchronize our efforts and support each other, we move forward stronger and faster as a team. Excellence isn’t just about individual achievement—it’s about collective progress.”
