At Hawaiian Host Group, the Ho‘okipa Award is a peer recognition platform that celebrates team members who Exceed Excellence and embody the Spirit of Hawai‘i by creating warm, welcoming experiences for others. The award is named “Ho‘okipa” to reflect hospitality, generosity, and connection—values at the heart of our company. Each quarter, we recognize individuals who go above and beyond to support our mission, uplift our colleagues, and strengthen our community.
We’re thrilled to celebrate Jason Lee, Associate Manager – Financial Systems, as our Q4 Hoʻokipa Award Winner!
Jason is a steady and dependable team member who plays a critical role in keeping our financial systems and processes running smoothly. Over the past year, he has supported several key innovation initiatives, ensuring costing, pricing, and master data remain accurate and well organized while managing complex, cross-functional workflows behind the scenes.
One of Jason’s most impactful contributions came during our ERP system transition. From managing Item Master Data and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to maintaining pricing accuracy throughout the system shift, his thoughtful approach and attention to detail helped ensure a smooth transition.
Reflecting on this project, Jason shared, “The migration from our old system to Oracle took immense effort from every department. So many people committed long hours and late nights, but we were able to successfully launch our new ERP system. While it was a very tight turnaround, it was great to see the collaboration between teams and everyone working toward the same goal, and I’m glad to have played a meaningful role in the migration.”
Beyond these major projects, Jason is also known for consistently stepping up to take on additional duties within the Finance team, making sure nothing falls through the cracks. His willingness to take initiative and can-do attitude make him someone teammates across the organization can always rely on.
When asked what this award means to him, Jason said, “Excellence isn’t about being perfect—it’s about choosing to improve a little every day, even when no one is watching. It’s something built over time—through consistency, curiosity, and with the support of the people around you who challenge and inspire you to keep growing.”
