Hawaiian Host® and Mauna Loa® Donate Masks to Local Hospitals

As the number of COVID19 patients continue to rise, healthcare professionals are facing a vast shortage of masks, leaving them more susceptible to illness. Mauna Loa® shared plenty of aloha with the delivery of much-needed disposable masks to Hilo Medical Center. Hilo Plant Manager Tony Pastrama paid Hilo Medical Center a visit in late March to drop off 6,600 disposable masks for the hospital’s medical staff. The masks were discovered as part of a “Pandemic Kit” the plant had in its storage facilities.

Meanwhile, Hawaiian Host® did its part as well. In Honolulu-based Hawaiian Host staff gave out 5,400 Masks to Hawaii Pacific Health and 3,000 individually wrapped chocolates to go to the 3 hospitals and the new respiratory center on Maui.
