In January 2023, HHG enhanced its Talent Development program with MasterClass subscriptions for team members across departments, locations, and levels of the organization. As many of our peers expressed interest in the program, we wanted to provide an update on how things are going today, eight months later.

In one of our recent employee satisfaction surveys, we found out that our team members want to learn new skills — both personally and professionally. After some research, we learned that MasterClass was a perfect platform to help us do that. With over 100 of the world’s best instructors and classes that are a unique blend of education and entertainment, the team has never been so excited to start learning.

Since launching this new benefit at the beginning of 2023, our team has watched a combined 41,905+ minutes of MasterClass courses.

Richard Branson, Sara Blakely, Bob Iger, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Alicia Keys, Howard Schultz, Lewis Hamilton, Malala Yousafzai, Kris Jenner, and Gordon Ramsay are just a few of the instructors. Classes range from business strategy, leadership, sales, and graphic design to meditation, cooking, dog training, and ‘ukulele.

Daniel Verduzco, our Sales Operations Manager, has been making the most of his subscription and has watched a total of 13 courses so far. He most appreciates that, “having hours of information at our disposal can open us up to new ways of approaching challenges as well as interacting with each other.”

How We Watch & Learn Together

As a company, we watch one complete MasterClass course per quarter, in addition to the courses our team members watch individually (more on this below). In March, we watched Business Strategy & Leadership by The Walt Disney Company’s CEO, Bob Iger. A companywide Lunch & Learn served as the culmination of the course.

After a company-sponsored lunch, team members across departments and locations dialed into an interactive Zoom call to share insights and take-aways they learned from one of the most accomplished business leaders of our time. From creating meaningful partnerships to leading with empathy, we learned a lot about what it takes to succeed in today’s business landscape.

Up next for the HHG team? The MasterClass from Peloton Vice President and Fitness Coach, Robin Arzon, on Mental Strength. In this course, Robin will teach us how to apply the principles of endurance and strength to every aspect of life. We look forward to hearing what our teams learned during our next MasterClass Lunch & Learn in September.
